Communauté Emmaüs du Cher

4 missions available

Emmaus Communities, founded in 1949 around the work of ragpickers, have provided unconditional welcome to people in precarious and excluded situations for over 70 years. Their model is based on a unique solidarity, enabling Companions to build their lives while helping, in turn, those in need. Today, 123 communities in France operate exclusively through the recovery, enhancement, and resale of donated items. Among them, Emmaus Community of Cher, created in 1987, brings together three sites in Bourges (La Chapelle-Saint-Ursin), Saint-Amand-Montrond, and Vierzon. With a team of five employees, it welcomes approximately 60 Companions and can count on the commitment of 70 volunteers to sustain this solidarity-based model.
