The Friends Committee of Emmaüs Roanne Mably is an association founded in 1982. It operates 22 collection points in the north of the department and the Brionnais region, a shop in the center of Roanne, and two consignment stores in Mably and Marcigny. The association fights poverty and exclusion by focusing its resources on solidarity economics and employment through economic activity and job insertion. It collects donations that its volunteers and employees sort and refurbish before selling them. Proceeds from sales cover operating costs, pay permanent and insertion job salaries, and fund solidarity initiatives locally, nationally, and abroad. The Friends Committee also supports solidarity associations and initiatives through material and human support whenever possible.
