Coallia

Coallia was founded in 1962 by Stéphane Hessel under the name AFTAM (Association for the Training of African and Malagasy Workers) to promote the return of workers to their home countries through vocational training. Since then, while the association has changed its name and expanded its activities, its mission remains the same: to take action for the housing, support, and autonomy of people in situations of precarity or dependency. Addressing the needs of asylum seekers and refugees in the areas of housing and social support is one of Coallia's major action priorities. We are thus a major player in the national reception system for asylum seekers and refugees, with numerous accommodation centers distributed across the country.
