The Jacques Becker Film Club, a non-profit association established under the 1901 French law, was founded in Pontarlier (25) in 1960 by a handful of cinema enthusiasts. Its first screening took place in December 1960 at the Olympia Cinema, where screenings were held until 1979 before moving to the Bernard Blier Theatre (340 seats). Today, the Film Club offers two weekly screenings on Tuesdays and organizes its festival, Cinéopen, during the second half of October. This festival distinguishes itself through two sections: animation cinema and featured countries. The Film Club also runs an image education program (for schools and other audiences). We are seeking skilled volunteers with various areas of expertise (accounting, communications, event coordination, etc.) for the festival and throughout the year.
