Food insecurity is reaching unprecedented levels in France: 3.5 million French people now rely on food assistance, with increasingly diverse profiles among those served. For many, food banks are vital. The Paris and Île-de-France Food Bank (BAPIF) with its more than 380 partner associations is a major player in collecting and distributing food aid throughout the Île-de-France region. Thus in 2025, more than 7,482 tonnes of food, equivalent to 15 million meals, were distributed to the most vulnerable among us.
