Banque Alimentaire du Tarn

The Tarn Food Bank is a departmental association created in 1997. In a spirit of solidarity and the fight against food waste, its purpose is to provide food assistance to the most disadvantaged people in partnership with member associations of the Tarn Food Bank. 80 volunteers and 4 employees share various administrative and technical tasks. To date, 29 associations distributed throughout the Tarn region distribute these donations (700 tonnes collected in 2024, equivalent to 1.45 million meals distributed) to more than 10,000 beneficiaries. The use of food assistance also creates social bonds, notably through the development and support of complementary support activities alongside distribution, such as cooking workshops and listening skills training.
