THE NUMBERS Food Bank has existed in France since 1984. Across the entire French territory, there are 79 banks and 31 branches that form the country's leading food aid network. In department 44: the headquarters is in St Aignan de Grand lieu with offices, cold storage rooms, a 3,500 m² warehouse, and 8 trucks/vans of which 5 are refrigerated. The St Nazaire branch has a 480 m² warehouse. At Food Bank 44: 120 volunteers, 10 permanent employees, 8 employees in job insertion programs. THE MISSION To distribute necessary food to people facing food insecurity (approximately 30,000) through our 124 partner associations, social grocery stores and community centers in Loire-Atlantique, in a spirit of giving and sharing. Other activities: • Training for partner associations (listening, food hygiene and safety) • Workshop and job insertion program (logistics training) • Food support initiatives (eating well on a tight budget and building social connections) through cooking workshops.
