CLIP (Penitentiary Computer Club) is a non-profit association (under the 1901 law) founded in 1985. It is recognized as being in the public interest. Its mission is to introduce or train individuals under judicial supervision to computer use with a view to their social reintegration. Composed of approximately 400 volunteers, CLIP operates in nearly 80 correctional facilities throughout France. The workshops offer training in standard software (office applications, graphic design, image processing, etc.) as well as more specialized tools and techniques (programming, robotics, etc.) for incarcerated individuals. In recent years, CLIP has also developed activities in community settings. These programs are organized in cooperation with SPIP (penitentiary services for insertion and probation).
