APF France handicap is the largest French organization recognized as being in the public interest, dedicated to the defense and representation of people with disabilities and their families. Founded in 1933 and known until April 2018 as the Association of the Paralyzed of France, APF France handicap now brings together nearly 100,000 stakeholders: members, elected officials, employees, volunteers and voluntary workers, service users, not to mention tens of thousands of donors and supporters. APF France handicap upholds humanist, activist and social values and pursues a project of general interest: that of an inclusive and solidarity-based society. The organization works for equality of rights, citizenship, social participation and freedom of choice in lifestyle for people with disabilities and their families. APF France handicap has held special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2021.
