Afev Yvelines

Afev is a popular education association that complements public education, with the aim of combating social and educational inequalities among children and young people through initiatives such as Mentoring. This is a support and learning program between a volunteer student and a young person experiencing difficulties in their educational journey. Each week, the volunteer student dedicates 2 hours of their time to support a child or adolescent in their path, restoring their confidence and desire to learn. Beyond homework, they work together on cultural awareness, mobility, and planning for post-secondary education. Thanks to these initiatives: 70% of the young people supported feel more motivated. 81% feel better about themselves. 64% feel more confident in class. 90% say they perform better on exams and tests. 80% believe their student mentor helped them gain clarity about their educational or professional goals.
