The A.M.I.S.S. association (Support for Better School and Social Integration) was created in 1991. Its mission is to prevent school failure, combat illiteracy, and promote access to social inclusion. We carry out several initiatives in this direction with schoolchildren and middle school students as well as their families: academic support and parenting assistance. In particular, our educational support activity enables children and young people to benefit from academic help oriented toward cultural development and career exploration for middle school students. It aims at the success and wellbeing of each child on a personal, academic, and social level. It takes place in eight schools and one middle school in Montauban, located primarily in Priority Education Networks and Priority Neighborhoods. It reaches nearly 150 children from first grade through eighth grade as well as their parents. Parenting support includes workshops on educational topics and cultural outings. Our support primarily reaches an allophone population receiving social assistance. Our team consists of employees and volunteers who provide support.
